CM Punk congratulates popular WWE star on major new deal

CM Punk returned to the WWE Family almost eight months ago. Despite his troubled past with the company, Punk has become a significant part of the new era, both behind the scenes and in the storylines. The RAW star has just publicly congratulated one of his colleagues following a breaking news announcement.

Pat McAfee wears many hats. The WWE RAW color commentator hosts The Pat McAfee Show for three hours each weekday and serves as an analyst on ESPN's College GameDay TV show. The Saturday morning show airs for three hours during college football season, from late August to early January. The former Kings of NXT leader just announced that he has re-signed with ESPN to return to GameDay for the 2024 season.

McAfee received congratulatory comments on Instagram from several athletes and celebrities, including CM Punk. In just a few hours, almost 1,000 fans have liked the reply left by The Second City Saint. Punk and WWE's Megan Morant liked the full post.

"Congrats! [fire emoji]," CM Punk wrote.

McAfee went on hiatus from commentary in September 2022 so that he could join GameDay but confirmed that he would return to the announce desk once the season ended. He made his surprise return at the 2023 Royal Rumble. It remains to be seen if McAfee will take time off this year, but making the Saturday ESPN show should not be an issue as it was while working SmackDown.

The Pat McAfee Show set for WWE 2K24

WWE 2K24 is set to release The Pat McAfee Show DLC Pack on July 31. The original release date was July 24, but the pack has been delayed a week.

The 3rd DLC pack for 2K24 will include McAfee and his co-hosts, Ty Schmit, Boston Connor, AJ Hawk, and Darius Butler. There will also be a useable football.

The 4th and final 2K24 DLC release is scheduled for September 20. The Global Superstars Pack will include Dragon Lee, Jade Cargill, Carlito, Michelle McCool, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lyra Valkyria.
