CM Punk and Drew McIntyre knocked it out of the park for one major reason, believes veteran
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had a physical match at Bad Blood. Fans were thoroughly invested in the lengthy storyline. WWE veteran Stevie Richards believes that the program was successful for a major reason.
On The Stevie Richards Show, the former Right to Censor member spoke about the Hell in a Cell match between Punk and McIntyre. Richards said the creative department produced a brilliant rivalry that captured fans' attention. The veteran added that the storyline was consistent and featured several characters, which was a prominent factor behind its success.
"With [CM] Punk and Drew [McIntyre], it's got a definitive weekly episodic, and then throughout pay-per-views, even monthly, or every three weeks, whatever the interval is, you know the storyline is progressing. Each time, each person has something to say. Sure, you sprinkle in Seth Rollins here and there. Damian Priest here and there. You have these people that kind of come into the universe or the solar system of Punk and Drew, but then they go back off into their program. So everybody is kind of like getting everybody over within those." [0:21 - 0:56]

CM Punk has taken time off to recover after Bad Blood
Before the Hell in a Cell Match against Drew McIntyre, CM Punk said he didn’t have the capacity to compete in such a physically demanding bout. But, fueled by his anger, he signed up to face The Scottish Psychopath for the third time. While the contest was entertaining, Punk and McIntyre were in poor shape after its conclusion.
CM Punk made an appearance on the RAW following the event and announced that he would be taking a break. He thanked everyone who believed in him and his haters for the program's success.
While Punk has put McIntyre behind him, he already has another rival waiting. As The Second City Saint was making his exit, Seth Rollins briefly confronted him. The Visionary later said he would end The Straight Edge Superstar's career once he was ready to wrestle again.
It will be interesting to see when Punk returns to finally answer The Revolutionary's challenge.
