CM Punk would be embarrassed, says rising WWE star, of his current version; explains why
CM Punk has been the topic of conversation for many WWE Superstars since he returned to the promotion in November 2023. Recently, Grayson Waller spoke about The Second City Saint and took a few shots at him.
Over a decade ago, CM Punk was known for his rebellious nature towards the management and its unfair treatment of talent. The Second City Saint also walked out of the Stamford-based promotion, and it took nearly a decade for him to return under new leadership.
In an exclusive with Wide World of Sports, Grayson Waller stated Punk would be embarrassed by his current version as the veteran goes against everything he stood up for in the past under the old regime. Moreover, he thinks CM Punk isn't portraying his true self anymore.
"The passion and energy, I love that - but I also don't think CM Punk is the same guy anymore. I think if CM Punk saw who he is from 10 years ago to now and who he has become, I think he would be embarrassed," Waller said.
The Moment Maker added:
"He comes out every week and talks about how much he loves the fans and all this positive energy and I don't think that's the real CM Punk. I don't know if he's just grown up and lost that edge or whether he is lying to himself to try and fix his reputation" Waller said. [H/T: Wide World of Sports]
CM Punk came face-to-face with Seth Rollins on WWE RAW
Last year, Seth Rollins seemed angry and unhappy when CM Punk returned to the Stamford-based promotion at Survivor Series: WarGames in Chicago. The two crossed paths in the coming weeks and set up a potential feud heading into WrestleMania XL. However, injuries scrapped those plans.
Later, CM Punk feuded with Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins shifted his attention towards Bronson Reed in the coming months. After WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, The Second City Saint came face-to-face with The Visionary on WWE RAW.
After a heated promo, the two locked horns and allowed their fists to do the talking. Luckily, the brawl was interrupted by Sami Zayn and Jey Uso. It seems like the two stars will pick up where they left off heading into WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
