CM Punk finally breaks silence on industry-shaking WWE deal: "We're all fighters"
CM Punk knows a thing or two about WWE and the pro wrestling business. The Best in the World believes the company’s new partnership with UFC is "really exciting" for everyone.
Punk has been a top name in the wrestling industry for nearly two decades. He has also tried his luck in UFC but wasn't too successful.
Fans have seen many UFC fighters cross over to the Stamford-based wrestling promotion. Initially, the two companies operated separately. However, they merged in September 2023 and now work under the TKO Holding Group banner.
There may not be many noticeable changes in either company under TKO’s umbrella. However, CM Punk believes that the UFC-WWE merger has brought a positive shift in the industry. He noted that the merger has many benefits.
"There's a lot of reasons why I think the crossover between UFC and WWE is important. We’re all under the TKO umbrella, but to me, what’s important about this is it brings pro wrestling back to its roots. I think there’s a lot of similarities, there’s a lot of parallels, and at the end of the day, we’re all brothers and sisters. We’re all fighters. So, it’s really exciting for me to see," the 45-year-old said.

The change in WWE's leadership allowed CM Punk to return to WWE Survivor Series last year after a two-year run with AEW. The creative team catapulted him back to the top, but an injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble has shelved him for now.
That hasn't stopped him from being in the limelight on RAW. Fans are waiting for CM Punk to unleash his talent in the ring again.
CM Punk could return to the ring at WWE SummerSlam
The creative team has done well to keep CM Punk relevant despite his injury at Royal Rumble, and he has been getting on Drew McIntyre’s nerves nonstop.
The two are waiting to collide in the ring and give fans the grudge match they deserve.
If rumors are to be believed, punk may be closing in on an in-ring return at SummerSlam. According to some reports, he was recently spotted at the Performance Center.
It’d be great to see Drew McIntyre finally get his hands on the man who has repeatedly cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. An extended rivalry between the two stars is waiting to happen.
