CM Punk makes major WWE announcement

CM Punk made an appearance on NXT. Toward the end of the episode, he showed up again to make an announcement regarding an upcoming WWE match.

Since returning to WWE, CM Punk has been in a rivalry with Drew McIntyre. The two men have exchanged words, traded blows for several months, and set to compete at Bad Blood. Amid this heated feud, Punk showed up to NXT to make an announcement.

However, as he was about to talk about the announcement, he was interrupted by Roxanne Perez, who confronted him. They were soon joined by Giulia, who put a countdown on Perez's title reign. As a result, Punk couldn't make his announcement.

Later in the night, Ethan Page and Trick Williams signed the contract for their title match on October 1 in Chicago. After signing the deal, Punk's music hit, and he came out to the ring again. He announced that a match of this magnitude needs a special guest referee since this could determine the future of NXT.

He then announced himself as the special guest referee. Punk also mentioned that the only rule was that they listened to him. He then told Trick and Page that they could start fighting now. They brawled until security personnel came out to separate them.

It will be interesting to see if Ethan Page can retain his title with CM Punk as the special guest referee.
