CM Punk makes shocking revelations about one last match with John Cena despite retirement plans

WWE star CM Punk recently spoke about having one last match with John Cena. The two stars have had legendary careers and crossed paths several times in the past.

At Money in the Bank 2024, John Cena made a surprise appearance. He informed fans that he would be retiring in 2025. He discussed his farewell tour, where he would make appearances at Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41.

During the Money in the Bank press conference, CM Punk addressed John Cena's retirement plans. He spoke about how Cena influenced his career, and he did the same for the latter. The Second City Saint was happy that The Cenation Leader was leaving on his terms. Punk then alluded to having one last match with the star to cap off their storied rivalry.

"Cena to my career means a lot. I don't think there's [sic] many people up in that rare air where if you talk about my career, I feel like you have to talk about John. It makes me feel proud that I think, if you talk about John's career, you have to talk about me. We're married in that respect. Proud of him, he gets to go out on his terms. I know that's important. I'm looking forward to what he does and I told him that if it's gonna be one more time, we gotta do it one more time."

CM Punk and John Cena put together arguably the greatest singles match in the history of Money in the Bank in 2011. The two stars faced each other several times throughout 2012 during The Second City Saint's WWE Championship reign.

CM Punk even vowed to drag Cena out of retirement for a match if things came down to that. It will be interesting to see whether the stars align for the two veterans of the business to meet one last time inside the ring.
