CM Punk makes surprising claim ahead of WWE SummerSlam
CM Punk made a surprising claim ahead of his return to the ring this Saturday night at WWE SummerSlam. The 45-year-old has been out of action with a torn triceps since the Men's Royal Rumble Match in January.
The veteran appeared on ESPN's First Take earlier today and hilariously left Bret Hart off his list of top five professional wrestlers of all time. The Second City Saint also stated that he never claimed to be a leader and was just doing his job. The WWE RAW star added that he is very polarizing because he chooses to say how he feels, and will check someone if they get out of line.
"I never claimed to be one. I'm just trying to do my job. I'm just trying to wrestle. I'm very polarizing for some odd reason. I tend to say how I feel, to a fault. I stand up for myself. A lot of people don't like that. There is always friction. I will be as polite and as kind to anybody as I possibly can. When they step out of line, I'm kind of the guy that checks them," he said. Bill Apter believes WWE star will cost CM Punk at SummerSlam
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter believes Seth Rollins will get involved in CM Punk's match against Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam.
Speaking on a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted show, Apter claimed Seth Rollins being named the Special Guest Referee for the match has made it predictable. He stated that Rollins will likely cost CM Punk the match, and McIntyre will go on to chase after the World Heavyweight Championship once again.
"Is the addition of Seth Rollins too damn predictable? That there is gonna be something, there's gonna be a rough bump, somebody is gonna turn against somebody. Seth Rollins is going to probably have Punk lose, so he can pick up his feud and hatred of CM Punk, and they can go there, and Drew can move on to the winner of the Priest and Gunther match, maybe," the veteran said. The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk has gotten incredibly personal over the past few months on WWE RAW. It will be fascinating to see which star emerges victorious at Summerslam this Saturday night.
