CM Punk reveals why he is "borderline obsessed" with his feud with Drew McIntyre
WWE Superstars CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are poised to risk their lives at Bad Blood in a brutal Hell in a Cell Match. Recently, The Best in the World explained his intense obsession with his rivalry against The Scottish Warrior.
At SummerSlam 2024, McIntyre defeated Punk in the pair's first clash. However, the tables turned at Bash in Berlin, where The Straight Edge Superstar secured a decisive victory over the former World Heavyweight Champion.
The rivalry intensified after The Scottish Psychopath destroyed CM Punk's bracelet and shoved the beads into his mouth on an episode of Monday Night RAW. Later, Adam Pearce announced that the two WWE Superstars would collide at Bad Blood inside the giant steel structure.
During an interview with The Hot Tag on 103.5 KISS FM, The Voice of The Voiceless was asked if the current Drew McIntyre is the best version of himself that the audience has witnessed. CM Punk admitted to being "borderline obsessed" with the rivalry because it was all he could think about. The former WWE Champion acknowledged that the feud had pushed him to his limits, forcing him to adopt a persona he was uncomfortable with.
"The thing is that I absolutely don’t like Drew McIntyre. I want this to be all over with because it’s literally like all I think about. I’m almost borderline obsessed with it now. So, it’s like an ugly situation. I don’t like who I have to be and who I have to become [for] October 5th at Hell in a Cell," he said.
Punk compared the situation to the high tide raising all ships and suggested that The Scottish Warrior's performance had also improved due to the intense rivalry. The 45-year-old star added:
"So, is this the best Drew McIntyre’s ever been? Well yeah, that’s what CM Punk does. High tide raises all ships. If you give less than your best, like you don't rise to the occasion, you drown. I eat you up." (From 05:45 to 06:27)

CM Punk says John Cena could top WWE name during his retirement tour
At the Money in the Bank 2024, The Cenation Leader announced that he will hang his boots and embark on a Retirement Tour next year.
During the same interaction with Brady on The Hot Tag, CM Punk predicted that John Cena could potentially face Gunther, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion, to pass the torch before riding off into the sunset.
"Knowing John, I'm assuming it's going to be somebody new, someone he can hand the baton to. So, it might be Gunther or it might be somebody that he has his eyes on and nobody else is really seeing, you know. You don't know, and that's what excites me," said Punk.
It remains to be seen if CM Punk will finally put his rivalry with Drew McIntyre to bed at the upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event on October 5, 2024.
