CM Punk reveals plan to "outdo" former WWE Champion
CM Punk has some big plans for the fourth quarter of 2024 in WWE. He is currently neck-deep in a rivalry with Drew McIntyre and also has some commitments to fulfill in NXT where he plans to outdo a former champion.
Seth 'Freakin' Rollins officiated a match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam. McIntyre ended up winning the contest after which the the two battled again in a Strap Match. At various points in the match, Punk was displeased with Rollins' refereeing and made it known to the former world champion.
The Second City Saint is set to officiate a match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page on WWE NXT’s CW Network premiere. CM Punk has a few plans in mind for the contest, including one to outdo Seth Rollins.
Speaking on 103.5 KISS FM, Punk talked about Rollins’ wacky referee outfit at SummerSlam along with the gadgets he had on his body. He noted that he planned to have all the gadgets and an even wackier outfit to officiate the match.
"I'm going to try and outdo goofy Seth Rollins with my referee outfit, I think. I have to. I think they want me to wear that headset that he had, the ref cam. Things are going to get wild. We’ll see how it goes," Punk said. [H/T ITR Wrestling]
The Second City Saint has been doing a phenomenal job since his return to WWE. Fans could see him on NXT more often in the coming months.
WWE fans are waiting for CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ rivalry to spill over to the ring
Drew McIntyre's rivalry with CM Punk has taken several drastic turns since their first back-and-forth earlier this year. The two men will meet once again at WWE Bad Blood, this time inside Hell in a Cell. The match could write the final chapter in their rivalry and bring their feud to a decisive end.
Meanwhile, Seth Rollins has been shelved by the colossal Bronson Reed. The Visionary will likely return for a feud against the big man soon. That could keep him busy on RAW till the show moves to Netflix.
Fans could watch the creative team build the rivalry between CM Punk and Seth Rollins in the ring once RAW starts airing on Netflix as Triple H will look for some big rivalries to get the brand going in its new home. It would arguably be ideal to have the two men compete early next year and have them go head to head at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41.
