CM Punk's bizarre real-life situation at WWE HQ questioned by veteran
A veteran wrestling personality has shared his thoughts on CM Punk's recent experience at the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The Second City Saint was infamously locked inside the facility after being featured on the Backlash France preshow.
On the latest episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former Zeb Colter reacted to Punk being locked inside the company's headquarters in Stamford. Mantell believed that it was all a work but he didn't know the reason behind it.
"I think that was staged. Yeah, kind of. Wait don't they have security around headquarters in Stamford? How could he get locked in? Now think about it. You're in the headquarters in Stamford, the WWE Headquarters, and they're shooting this and nobody checks to lock up or anything or check the room? I don't know what happened but I don't think he got locked in. I really don't. (…) Just publicity, like they're working, I guess. I don't know what that is. This business is the more they do, the more I don't understand it." [0:12 - 1:02]
CM Punk was seemingly forced to stay the night during the lockout at the WWE Headquarters. He loved the property's amenities like the gym and a refrigerator full of food. However, there was no bed available, and he had to sleep on a couch.
How did CM Punk get locked inside the WWE Headquarters?
In a video released by WWE's official website, CM Punk explained how he got locked inside the headquarters earlier this month. It was due to the key fob system used in the building, as he got stuck inside a bathroom while changing after his appearance on the Backlash France preshow.
Punk got out of the bathroom and watched the premium live event before finding the gym inside the headquarters. He missed his flight because of the ordeal. Hence, the former world champion decided to just stay for the night and attend RAW in Hartford.
The Second City Saint arrived at XL Center in style, riding a vintage car. He then cut a promo on his current rival, Drew McIntyre. Punk is still not cleared to return, but fans are expecting him to face The Scottish Warrior inside the ring soon.
