CM Punk's next feud will be with 2-time WWE Champion; all parties involved are aware, says analyst
CM Punk recently ended his rivalry with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood. WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested Punk's upcoming feud would be with a multi-time world champion.
After his return to the Stamford-based company last year, Punk entered a feud with Seth Rollins. While WWE initially planned for The Best in the World to square off against The Visionary at WrestleMania 40, the 46-year-old veteran suffered an injury at the hands of McIntyre during the Royal Rumble match earlier this year. Hence, plans changed to see Rollins enter a storyline with Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline while Punk started an angle with The Scottish Warrior.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts predicted that the company would have the Rollins-Punk feud after The Second City Saint ended his rivalry with McIntyre. The 41-year-old disclosed that he believes all parties involved have already been informed of the same:
"I think that the Seth Rollins-CM Punk rivalry is coming. And I think that all parties involved are aware. CM Punk's not getting booed. Do I think it's going to go as far as it did with Drew McIntyre? No, I don't think they can redo that. I don't think Seth Rollins is gonna be a full heel because I think if Seth Rollins became a full heel, it would feel too much like the Drew McIntyre-CM Punk rivalry. I think what you've got instead is Seth Rollins in an extremely bad mood and CM Punk in not such a bad mood. And you can choose to cheer Seth Rollins if you or not, Seth doesn't care," he said. Seth Rollins will face Bronson Reed at WWE Crown Jewel
Following his victory over Drew McIntyre in a brutal Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood, CM Punk went on hiatus from WWE. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins is currently feuding with Bronson Reed on RAW.
The Visionary will now square off against the former NXT North American Champion this Saturday at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Last night on RAW, the two superstars brawled in the parking lot. Their fight ended with Rollins getting destroyed and transferred to a local medical facility.
It would be interesting to see if The Visionary can overcome Big Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel and whether he would later feud with CM Punk.
