CM Punk's RAW promo felt completely pointless, according to former WWE employee (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo shared his thoughts on CM Punk's promo on Monday Night RAW. The star kicked off the show this week with a savage promo on Drew McIntyre.
Drew and Punk are set to settle their bitter rivalry inside Hell in a Cell. The match will be the final match in their trilogy. While McIntyre picked up the win at SummerSlam, the Straightedge Star evened things in the Strap Match at Bash in Berlin.
During this week's edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo questioned the point of CM Punk's promo. He detailed that the fans had already heard everything the star said during the segment. He felt WWE was just prolonging the angle to fill TV time until Bad Blood.
"After all that's been going on with these two, like what is that promo supposed to do that hasn't already been done? That's what I talk about bro, prolonging and prolonging. Why are we in a different place this week than we were in last week." [6:42 onwards]
This week, CM Punk also made it clear that he would get inside Hell in a Cell despite advice from his friends, family, and wife. He vowed to make Drew McIntyre bleed inside the hellish structure and claimed the Scottish Warrior would have to kill him to win the match.
