CM Punk’s WWE RAW return announced
WWE Superstar CM Punk will return to Monday Night RAW on tonight's edition of the show set to air live from the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington. The Best in the World's last appearance on the red brand was on the October 7 episode, where he announced he would take a break after his brutal encounter with Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood.
The Second City Saint returned to WWE television on the November 22 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, as Paul Heyman announced Punk as the fifth member of Roman Reigns' team for WarGames. Despite his differences with the OTC, the 46-year-old helped the OG Bloodline secure the win over Solo Sikoa and his men.
Ahead of the upcoming edition of Monday Night RAW, WWE posted a video of Adam Pearce announcing CM Punk's return to the red brand's show. The former World Champion will kick off things later tonight.
The RAW General Manager further announced the first qualifying match in the tournament to crown the first Women's Intercontinental Champion and a women's tag team contest between The Judgment Day's Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez and Damage CTRL.
WWE Hall of Famer criticizes CM Punk over recent remarks
In a controversial statement, CM Punk said he wasted some matches on some wrestlers during his AEW run. The veteran performer's comments did not go down well with former SmackDown manager Teddy Long.
During a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Long said CM Punk should refrain from making such statements. He added if Punk's opponents were not good enough, it was the latter's duty to help them grow. He did not like MJF being named one of those performers:
"Well, I don't think he should say things like that. I think anybody that you step into the ring with, if they're not polished, then your job is to help polish them. So anybody that stepped in there with him, if they're slack, and then he knows to go to him and talk to him and say, hey, hey, come on, man. You got to step it up. Here's what we need to do. But then there are some guys that you can't talk to. They don't want to hear it. They already think they know it all. But one of the names he had in there is MJF. I have to pull that out. You ain't gonna waste no time with MJF," he said. [From 11:14 onwards]

With WarGames in the books, it will be interesting to see who CM Punk feuds with. He had previously teased a program with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
