CM Punk sends cryptic message amid MAJOR WWE rumors ahead of SummerSlam
WWE Superstar CM Punk recently took to social media to send a cryptic message amid major rumors related to his current contract with the Stamford-based promotion. Punk has not competed inside the squared circle since Royal Rumble 2024.
After The Second City Saint got injured in January this year, Drew McIntyre cut a promo saying that he prayed for Punk to get hurt. Since then, the two have been in a heated feud. Their rivalry has given fans some of the best angles on WWE television. On this week's episode of RAW, The Best in the World said he was finally cleared to compete.
Punk is now set to face off against The Scottish Warrior at SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee.
According to a recent report by Ibou of WrestlePurists, CM Punk wanted to make some changes to his current WWE contract as he allegedly wished to stay with the company 'forever' and possibly run NXT in the future.
Amid these rumors, The Second City Saint uploaded a cryptic photo of a skeleton on his Instagram Story. Punk could currently be in Japan for WWE's house show tour. He might have encountered the skeleton and clicked a picture because he found it funny.
If the rumors about him wanting to restructure his contract are true, the abovementioned story could also mean that he is possibly waiting for an answer from the Triple H-led promotion.

Dave Meltzer talked about CM Punk reportedly wanting to change his WWE deal
According to the latest report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, CM Punk's current short-term deal with WWE would expire soon.
"What happened when CM Punk came in, they had a short-term deal which is expiring now. Now there are rollovers in the deal so there’s not like a hurry that they have to sign him because the deal goes longer. But they knew all along that right around now would be when they would be renegotiating any deals."
Meltzer also mentioned that the Triple H-led promotion already knew about The Second City Saint's terms, and both parties were on the same page regarding the deal.
"It was kind of known that that was going to happen now. Everyone is getting along fine. There's nothing wrong with it or anything like that... He's just hammering down the terms that everyone knew they were going to do at a certain point, which is now just to basically get everyone back on the page because they both know where they want to be."
CM Punk is finally set to wrestle in his second televised match since returning to World Wrestling Entertainment last year. It will be interesting to see whether he can defeat Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.
