CM Punk sends message to WWE Hall of Famer following major announcement
CM Punk returned to the ring at WWE SummerSlam on August 3, but it was not his night. Drew McIntyre humbled Punk thanks partly to the commotion caused by special guest referee Seth Rollins. But more importantly, The Straight Edge Superstar's rage got the better of him.
In the SummerSlam fallout episode of RAW, Punk shrugged off his loss to McIntyre as he pointed to how things have only begun. It appears creative is looking to continue the rivalry between these two and hold off the former AEW World Champion's anticipated program with Rollins.
Meanwhile, the Stamford-based promotion has a new deal with The CW Network which will be the new home of NXT starting from October 1. CM Punk is announced for the debut episode of NXT on The CW Network in Chicago. Taking to Instagram, Punk dropped a message to WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels:
"@wwenxt in Chicago? Put me in, coach!" CM Punk wrote.

The announcement also stated that the second episode in St. Louis will feature an appearance by Randy Orton, who has seemingly moved to RAW following SummerSlam.
Randy Orton will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE Bash in Berlin
In a sudden turn of events, Randy Orton interrupted Gunther's opening promo segment on RAW in the aftermath of SummerSlam. Without wasting much time, he got straight to the point. The Legend Killer reminded The Ring General that the latter's win against him in the King of the Ring Tournament Finals was marred in controversy.
Orton's shoulders were up during the deciding pinfall, which Triple H later addressed. The Game further confirmed that a sequel will take place down the line. And now the 14-time WWE World Champion has staked his claim. He will be Gunther's opponent on the latter's home turf on August 31 as the company hosts its first premium live event in Berlin, Germany.
A few months prior, The Ring General talked about the importance of the upcoming Bash in Berlin event. With the World Heavyweight Championship now in his possession, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Gunther headlines the show on August 31 in Uber Arena, Berlin, Germany.
