CM Punk winning a major title in WWE before hanging up his boots is not needed, feels veteran (Exclusive)
It has been over a year since CM Punk shocked the world and made his return to WWE. While the Best in the World has been treated like a main-event caliber star since the return, wrestling veteran Vince Russo believes that he does not need a title in what is most likely his final run.
Punk has wrestled in just a handful of matches since his return. He had an enthralling feud with Drew McIntyre, culminating in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. The Chicago native has been on a hiatus since the match.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo noted that he would not put a title on CM Punk simply because the latter has no need for it.
"I would say no because he doesn’t need to have a title reign. I would put it on somebody that needs it so I will say no." [ From 37:18 onwards]
Many expected CM Punk to return to WWE in time for Survivor Series to have a match against Gunther. However, The Ring General will face Damian Priest at WWE's upcoming premium live event, with the Second City Saint still nowhere to be seen.
