Cody Rhodes asked about Vince McMahon scandal following WWE Bash in Berlin
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was asked about the Vince McMahon scandal following Bash in Berlin. The American Nightmare successfully defended his title against Kevin Owens at the premium live event today in Germany.
Vince McMahon is the former CEO of the company but resigned from the promotion earlier this year after accusations from former WWE employee Janel Grant were made public. Grant accused Mr. McMahon of sex trafficking her during her tenure with the company.
Speaking at the press conference following WWE Bash in Berlin, Rhodes was asked if he believed Janel Grant's accusations after the locker room had been silent about the issue. The 39-year-old claimed he didn't know enough about the situation to provide an answer.
"Oh, again, I don't know enough about the information to give you a good enough answer there. I'm sorry," he said. [From 01:45 - 01:51]
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens had been working together in a rivalry against The Bloodline ahead of Bash in Berlin. However, Rhodes suggested that they square off in a title match against each other and The Prizefighter eventually accepted the challenge.
Rhodes picked up the victory today in a hard-fought match and shared a hug with Owens following the victory. The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa has already warned that he would be coming after the title following the premium live event.
Randy Orton says it's nice not having Vince McMahon in WWE
Randy Orton recently discussed Vince McMahon's departure from the promotion and admitted it was nice not having him around.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, The Legend Killer discussed McMahon's departure from the company. He noted that the 79-year-old gave him a lot of opportunities, but it was time for WWE to enter a new era.
"All the opportunities he [Vince McMahon] gave me, it's nice having him out of there and it's nice having his son-in-law, Triple H, running the game. Nick Khan's great. Everybody in TKO that's come in, stepped in, they seem to get it, and it's just a different era," Orton said. [From 04:19 – 04:35]
