Cody Rhodes bids emotional farewell to WWE name after SmackDown went off the air; last show after 8 years before leaving
Cody Rhodes bid farewell to a very popular WWE name after SmackDown went off the air tonight. There were chants for the star as it was the last show after eight years with the company.
Kayla Braxton has been a name that every WWE fan has come to know. Acting as an interviewer for WWE, Braxton is termed a superstar on the site as an on-air talent. Famous for her angles with Paul Heyman and subtly helping to tell different stories backstage and even in the ring at times on the mic, Braxton is extremely popular among the WWE faithful.
Unfortunately, the star has decided to leave the company once and for all after having joined in 2016. She changed her name on social media to Kayla Becker. She confirmed the reports of her departure, letting fans know that she was leaving the company as she wanted to explore other opportunities. She did, however, say that she would likely not go to any other wrestling promotion, putting an end to AEW rumors.
On WWE SmackDown tonight, she had a small segment where she tried to interview Nick Aldis. But it was after the show that she had her moment in front of fans. Cody Rhodes brought her out in what was a very emotional segment as the company bid her farewell.
There were "Thank you Kayla" chants throughout as the WWE Universe said goodbye to a name that had become synonymous with interviews in the company. She also hugged Cody Rhodes in a heartfelt moment.
For now, Kayla has not revealed what's next for her, but clearly, she'll have the support of her fans whatever she chooses.
