Cody Rhodes defeats top heel for the 17th time in almost 500 days after SmackDown goes off the air
Cody Rhodes is a whopping 17-0 against one particular superstar, and that record seems to have no sign of stopping. After SmackDown went off the air, The American Nightmare beat a familiar foe, Dominik Mysterio, again.
Cody Rhodes was a frustrated man on the latest episode of SmackDown. He was first seen interacting with Jimmy Uso, with the latter showing him some respect. Kevin Owens came out and tried to explain himself, but Cody was held back by numerous people, including Randy Orton. As The Viper tried to be the voice of reason, he was struck by Owens, who later turned on him completely. Before the attack on Orton, The Viper tried to cool Cody Rhodes down.
This week, during the SmackDown dark match main event, The American Nightmare defeated Dominik Mysterio for the 17th time since July 1, 2023.
Out of the 17 matches they've had, only two have been televised - one at 2023 Money in the Bank and one on an episode of RAW. Dominik Mysterio made an appearance on SmackDown this week alongside Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
It looks like "Dirty" Dom had double duty. He has been one of WWE's workhorses in 2024.
