Cody Rhodes dropping his title to major WWE star at SummerSlam is possible, says ex-host, before regaining it at Survivor Series
Cody Rhodes has held the Undisputed WWE Championship since WrestleMania XL. However, a former WWE host thinks his first-ever World Title reign could end at SummerSlam.
On his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Matt Camp discussed the future of the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes after his victory over AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle. He suggested The American Nightmare could feud with his former Legacy leader, Randy Orton. The former RAW Talk host claimed The Viper would be Rhodes' first legitimate challenger for the championship.
Camp also stated that Orton could dethrone Rhodes at SummerSlam. Nevertheless, The Viper could drop the belt again to The American Nightmare at Survivor Series:
"To me, Randy would be his first legitimate challenge to that championship. Didn't think AJ was winning either match. Didn't think Logan Paul was winning either match. Nobody else did either. But Randy Orton, super heel Randy Orton, at SummerSlam against Cody Rhodes, very believable to see Randy walk out with the WWE Championship on that night, not to say he would keep it forever, not to say he would even keep it for a long time. Cody would get that title back maybe by Survivor Series. That's okay to have him chase a little bit," he said. [From 11:55 to 12:32]

Will Randy Orton attack Cody Rhodes at WWE Money in the Bank?
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens helped Cody Rhodes counter an attack from The Bloodline at Clash at the Castle. Matt Camp now thinks The American Nightmare, The Viper, and The Prizefighter would team up to square off against Solo Sikoa's group in a six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank.
On his The Wrestling Matt podcast, the former RAW Talk host suggested that Orton could turn on Rhodes after they win their potential match at the upcoming premium live event:
"There could be a moment at Money in the Bank if they do the six-man where Kevin leaves the ring and Randy sees the title on the ground and he goes to hand it to Cody and as he does, he yanks the title in and hits him with an RKO and off we're going. The idea though should be that Randy has and knew he could get close to Cody because he's one step ahead. He could say, 'Yeah, your dad might have taught you a lot, but I taught you a lot too. But I didn't teach you everything,'" he said.
Matt Camp also suggested another scenario in which Orton would attack Rhodes on the SmackDown episode after Money in the Bank. It would be interesting to see if The Viper would indeed turn on his former Legacy associate.
