Cody Rhodes excited for major appearance outside of WWE
Cody Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Champion, which means he's a hot commodity outside the company. Rhodes is busy preparing for his next big match, and a rumored title defense, but officials have found time for the second-generation superstar to make one major appearance this month.
The American Nightmare will team with Roman Reigns for the first time at Bad Blood on October 5 in Atlanta. Reigns and Rhodes will go up against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match. While involved with The Bloodline, Cody is also rumored for a big championship rematch that would be centered around a heel turn in the near future.
The Grandson of a Plumber has been announced for the second annual People's Choice Country Awards. Cody will be a presenter on-stage this Thursday night, but the category has not been named as of this writing. Rhodes took to X/Twitter to expressed excitement for the opportunity.
"Excited for this one [fist emoji] [collision emoji] @peopleschoice @opry," Cody Rhodes wrote.
Rhodes and Reigns are being advertised for Friday's SmackDown in Oklahoma City. Thursday's awards show will take place at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. NBC and Peacock will air the ceremony live at 8pm ET.
Cody Rhodes teases surprise for WWE fans
Cody Rhodes and Fanatics are teaming up for a "really fun" offering to the WWE Universe. The Undisputed Champion, who is making waves with Roman Reigns right now, has been a top merchandise mover since returning in 2022.
Sources reported this week that The American Nightmare recently hit a major milestone with Fanatics, who handles all of the company's merchandise online and at events. Cody has announced that he just approved "something really fun" that will be released on WWE Shop soon.
"Just signed off on something really fun that's coming to @WWEShop / @Fanatics. Y'all the best! [mantelpiece clock emoji]," Cody Rhodes wrote.
Rhodes was praised by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin at the first-ever Fanatics Fest NYC convention in August. Rubin publicly congratulated Cody on being the top merchandise seller in World Wrestling Entertainment, and joked that names like Logan Paul and The Rock need to step it up.
