Cody Rhodes facing either Roman Reigns or ex-WWE Champion at WrestleMania 41 looks likely, says veteran (Exclusive)
While WrestleMania 41 is still five months away, fans have already started speculating about Cody Rhodes' potential opponent at WWE's biggest premium live event. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell also weighed in with his thoughts on the situation, noting that he sees The American Nightmare facing either Roman Reigns or The Rock at The Showcase of the Immortals.
Cody and Reigns already have a huge history between them. The duo faced off at WrestleMania 39 and 40 and have a win each. The Rock, meanwhile, started with his rivalry with the former AEW EVP earlier this year on The Road to WrestleMania 40. The Final Boss told Cody that he would return for him and his title on the RAW following WrestleMania before taking a hiatus.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, Dutch Mantell noted that his last talk with WWE's creative team bore no fruit.
"The last time I talked to the WWE’s creative team, which was earlier in the week, they were so drought (sic) I couldn’t make heads or tails out of what they were saying. I don’t even think they have really decided that part in advance. They have an idea, Triple H has an idea, but I don’t think it’s decided."
The veteran, however, added that the possible opponent for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 has to be either Roman Reigns or The Rock.
"I think Cody does have an appointment at WrestleMania against either Roman Reigns or The Rock which I think would be the best way to go." [From 16:07 onwards]
Cody Rhodes is currently embroiled in a feud with Kevin Owens. The Undisputed WWE Champion called out KO on SmackDown last night but Nick Aldis intervened. The duo will come face-to-face on the blue brand next week.
