Cody Rhodes falling victim to major betrayal from massive WWE star is possible, says analyst, after facing Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin. A WWE Analyst recently suggested that storyline could witness The American Nightmare getting betrayed by another top superstar.
The Analyst in question is Sam Roberts. While addressing the storyline between Owens and Rhodes on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, he predicted that The Prizefighter would turn heel after losing to The American Nightmare in the German capital. Meanwhile, he suggested that Randy Orton could also turn on the 39-year-old champion after the latter competes in a second match against Owens at Bad Blood.
Orton will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin. Roberts proposed that The Viper loses to The Ring General and then goes after Rhodes' title:
"Maybe Cody Rhodes beats Kevin Owens when they're both friends and then they have one more match at Bad Blood where Kevin Owens is an enemy. And now it's hero Cody Rhodes vs. villain Kevin Owens. And then at the end of that, that's where Randy comes out. Maybe next night, next Friday on SmackDown. Kevin Owens is laying another beatdown on Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton comes out to help Kevin Owens and then boom, RKO out of nowhere on Cody Rhodes. Randy Orton was not successful in winning the World Heavyweight Title, so now it's time to cash in on all those looks that he's been giving Cody's title," he said. [16:03 - 16:47]
WWE Hall of Famer says Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton could square off in a title unification match
While many expect Cody Rhodes to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin, Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently suggested Randy Orton could dethrone Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Title.
The World's Strongest Man pointed out that The Viper could then square off against The American Nightmare in a title unification match:
"[Mark, do you see a scenario where Randy Orton tells Cody, like, 'Hey man, I was out there too. I had your back too. Where's my title shot?'] Where is my title shot? Denise, you're on point. But you know what, what if Randy beats Gunther and then says what you just said and he wants to unify and become a Universal Champion?"
Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam by defeating Damian Priest. It would be interesting to see if WWE would end The Ring General's title reign so soon.
