Cody Rhodes does not have good "character integrity," says veteran; critiques The Bloodline angle
The Bloodline Saga still stands as a captivating WWE storyline with several layers to it, and Cody Rhodes is perhaps the ultimate villain through their lens. However, the choice to have The American Nightmare as a one-man army against them is not an exciting one, according to WCW veteran, Disco Inferno.
Last week, SmackDown GM, Nick Aldis, intervened in a potential brawl between Cody Rhodes, the Street Profits, #DIY against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. Aldis asked them to save it for SmackDown's debut on the USA Network. He booked Rhodes and Sikoa in a Steel Cage Match for the title tonight, which is set to kick off the show.
Speaking on Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL, Disco Inferno decided to grade The American Nightmare's title reign thus far a "B-" owing to creative fumbles with regard to his Bloodline rivalry. Inferno said it was not as exciting as it was when Roman Reigns and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson were around. He also did not enjoy last week's segment with Rhodes, Sikoa, and Aldis.
"It hasn't been as intriguing as the stuff with The Bloodline previously. You know what? I'm gonna give it a B-," Disco Inferno said about Cody Rhodes' run as Undisputed WWE Champion. "I'm not down with him being this—they didn't tighten the screws with some of the angles where he's like this—big badass standing alone against The Bloodline. Out there with a suit and tie to fight these guys. I thought that was not good character integrity." [From 3:06 to 3:36]

The American Nightmare has been champion since WrestleMania XL, where he defeated Roman Reigns. He also got pinned by The Rock in Night One's tag team main event. After The Show of Shows, Rhodes defended the belt against the likes of AJ Styles (twice), Logan Paul, Solo Sikoa, and most recently Kevin Owens.
Cody Rhodes is ready for The Final Boss when he returns to WWE
The Rock showed up on RAW After WrestleMania XL to congratulate Cody Rhodes. He also claimed that The American Nightmare's story with Roman Reigns was over, but theirs was only beginning.
Reflecting on this moment while touching upon a bevy of topics during a sit-down interview with The Pivot Podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed that it was likely to happen in 2025.
With rumblings about this high-profile showdown taking place on The Grandest Stage of Them All next year, perhaps it may have been the champion's subtle way of hinting at it when asked point-blank.
"So Rock told me he'd see me when he comes back. My head has been on a swivel everyday since the day after WrestleMania. For when this 'Final Boss', as Rock goes by now, when that music hits, I'll be in 100% in the same spot I was and I'll be ready for him. [...] If I could give you a guess, I feel like...I hope it happens in the next year," he said.
When The Final Boss does show up on The Island of Relevancy, Cody Rhodes will finally have his "mega heel" to conquer. In the meantime, The American Nightmare continues his reign as Undisputed WWE Champion.
