Cody Rhodes could have a heel run with WWE in the future, feels wrestling veteran

Former WWE manager Jim Cornette recently spoke about a possible heel turn for Cody Rhodes. The star is the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

Rhodes won the title against all odds at WrestleMania XL. He defeated Roman Reigns in a Bloodline Rules match, ending his historic title run. Since then, The American Nightmare has been a fighting champion, defending the title against stars such as AJ Styles and Logan Paul.

This week on Jim Cornette's Drive Thru, the veteran felt no immediate need to turn Cody heel. He explained that if The American Nightmare were to wrestle in WWE for the next ten years, there would be an opportunity for a heel turn and a good run for him sometime in the future.

"There would be no reason to think about that for I would assume the next couple of years the way things are going. I can't remember how old Cody is but he's in his 30s. When he gets older or doesn't wanna step aside or whatever. The point is if he wants to wrestle on even a part-time basis for the next 10 years, at some point there would be a great spot for him to turn heel and have a good run like that for a while." The Bloodline attacked Cody Rhodes on SmackDown

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens teamed up against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in the main event of SmackDown after team A-Town Down Under tried to jump the champ in the show's opening segment.

The two babyfaces picked up the win but could not celebrate as The Bloodline launched an attack. Cody and KO managed to fight them off but Jacob Fatu once again proved to be the difference maker.

He planted Owens and then the faction put Cody Rhodes through the announcer's table, sending a strong message to the champ just weeks ahead of SummerSlam.
