Cody Rhodes is "likely to get beat" at Saturday Night's Main Event, WWE legend reveals why

Tonight at Saturday Night's Main Event, Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Title against Kevin Owens. Ahead of the show, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse "The Body" Ventura made a shocking prediction regarding The American Nightmare's title defense.

The legendary Jesse Ventura will return to the broadcast announce table for SNME as part of the iconic NBC show's planned retro theme. Meanwhile, KO turned on Rhodes after the latter joined forces with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood. The feud between the two WWE Superstars has reached a deeply personal level.

On the December 13, 2024, installment of Friday Night SmackDown, Owens claimed that Cody Rhodes' Stardust persona was far more interesting than the 39-year-old's current version. The Prizefighter stood tall last night on the blue brand after laying out The American Nightmare with the championship belt.

The Body joined Bully Ray and Mark Henry in the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast. During the conversation, Jesse Ventura blamed Cody Rhodes' ego for the 39-year-old's involvement with Chad Gable on last week's SmackDown, where the reigning champion hurt his ankle.

The 73-year-old legend predicted that this injury might severely impact The American Nightmare's performance in his upcoming WWE Title match against Kevin Owens, stating that Cody was "likely to get beat."

"What did Rhodes do? He let his ego [get] in the way last Friday on SmackDown; he gets [sic] involved with this [Chad] Gable kid and gets his ankle twisted and wrecked. He [Cody] is likely to get beat tomorrow night [against Owens]," Ventura said. [From 08:32 to 08:47]

Among many veterans, Magnum T.A. also shared his thoughts on the Undisputed WWE Championship match between KO and Cody Rhodes. The former NWA United States Heavyweight Champion spoke about this on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast.

Magnum T.A. speculated that merchandising concerns might prevent Kevin Owens from defeating Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event.

"Oh, you could tell an amazing story that way [Owens beating Rhodes], you know. Are the merchandising people gonna let that happen? Probably not. You know, I mean, it's all, at the end of the day, about, you know, money," he said.
