Cody Rhodes' opening segment was the highlight of scattered SmackDown show, claims wrestling veteran (Exclusive)
Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently discussed Cody Rhodes' promo to kick off this week's episode of SmackDown. The American Nightmare was irate with Kevin Owens after his brutal attack on Randy Orton.
Cody called Kevin out to the ring but was greeted by Nick Aldis instead. The SmackDown General Manager informed Rhodes that KO would not be on the blue brand until everything was sorted internally. The 39-year-old star was not ready to take no for an answer and claimed that he would beat down Owens even if it meant that he had to travel to his house.
This week on Smack Talk, Mantell claimed Cody Rhodes' segment was the highlight of an otherwise blurred show. He also pointed out that Roman Reigns' segment was well executed when he tried to contact Paul Heyman but The Wiseman's phone number was out of service.
"I liked Cody's original interview to start the show tonight. That was good, I liked that. And I liked the end where Roman was calling somebody we don't know and he said, 'Hello Wiseman.' The crowd popped and then I'm sorry the number you've reached is not in service at this time. That was good. But the rest of it to me, it was well produced show but to me it was blurred tonight," Dutch Mantell said. [From 1:52 onwards]
