Cody Rhodes opens up about WWE Universe criticizing superstars' physiques: "Body shame me all you want"

Cody Rhodes has become one of the biggest names in WWE since his return to the Stamford-based company. The American Nightmare recently talked about fans commenting on wrestlers' physiques.

The internet can be a cruel place for many, and fans have criticized different aspects of WWE's products on the platform. One such point that frequently comes up is the physique of certain wrestlers.

While speaking to Flagrant, Cody Rhodes talked about how wrestlers have to expose their bodies for the art they perform in the ring. He noted that fans pay hundreds of dollars to watch their favorite superstars perform and have the right to criticize their physiques if they believe that they can do better.

"We are wrestling with our shirts off, folks, you're standing next to some of the best athletes in the world. You'll hear fans like, 'You can't body shame wrestlers.' What are you talking about? We're standing there half-naked and you paid hundreds of dollars to sit there, you can body shame me all you want," Cody Rhodes said. [H/T WrestlingINC]

The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion has worked hard to become a fan favorite in recent years. Rhodes' hard work has paid off as the creative team chose him over several other top men to dethrone Roman Reigns for the company’s top title.

The American Nightmare is filling the void left behind by John Cena as a top babyface. It would be good to see him remain on top of the mountain in WWE for some time.

Cody Rhodes will face Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

The new Survivor Series: WarGames theme has put a limit to the number of "Champion vs. Champion" matches in WWE. The number of matches between top champions in the company has further decreased over the years.

Saudi Arabia is always looking to host some of the biggest matches of WWE, and the Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event will do just that. The top men's and women's champions of RAW and SmackDown will collide against each other for the Crown Jewel Championships at the upcoming event.

Cody Rhodes will face reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in what will likely be the biggest contest of the event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A distraction or two could cost The American Nightmare the match and allow The Ring General to come out on top once again.

The Ring General won the 2024 King of the Ring tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, not too long ago to secure a World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam 2024. Another win in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will solidify him as a fan-favorite star in the country.
