Cody Rhodes pins highly touted 34-year-old superstar after SmackDown goes off the air
Cody Rhodes was involved in a huge six-man tag team match after SmackDown went off the air tonight and pinned a highly touted 34-year-old superstar. This match saw him team up with two major allies. The star who was pinned was the German star, Ludwig Kaiser.
SmackDown this week ended with Sami Zayn reuniting with the original Bloodline - a group where he held the position of "Honorary Uce." His friendship with Jey Uso was what drew him in and he demanded that Roman Reigns apologize to Jey - something he refused to do. However, the night still ended with Sami and Roman coming to good terms.
After SmackDown went off the air, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso stayed in the ring as they teamed up with Cody Rhodes to face the heel trio of Ludwig Kaiser, Bron Breakker, and Carmelo Hayes. Cody pinned the highly-touted 34-year-old Kaiser to pick up the win for his team.
Cody Rhodes wasn't featured prominently on SmackDown this week as he was only spotted in the segment where Randy Orton was hospitalized after being hit with a sit-down piledriver - an illegal move in WWE - by Kevin Owens.
It isn't surprising that he was on for the post-SmackDown dark match - a role that he usually fills as he wins the last match to send the crowd home happy.
Sami Zayn also cut a wholesome promo, telling Jey Uso he loved him and had his back regardless of what happens at Survivor Series: WarGames in three weeks.
