Cody Rhodes plans revealed for WWE SmackDown
The war between Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline is heating up on The Road to WWE SummerSlam. New details have been disclosed on what is planned for the Undisputed Champion on tonight's show.
Nick Aldis previously confirmed Solo Sikoa vs. The American Nightmare for the 37th annual SummerSlam PLE, with the Undisputed Championship on the line. Rhodes was beat down by The Bloodline last week, then forced to watch an assault on Randy Orton. SmackDown ended with The Viper going through the announce table with a Bloodline powerbomb, then Sikoa laying Rhodes out with a Samoan Spike.
Officials had announced The Grandson of a Plumber for SmackDown, noting that he would be addressing last week's attack by The Bloodline. The SmackDown General Manager has now confirmed that Cody will open tonight's broadcast from the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
"We're kicking things off, here in Omaha, Nebraska, with The American Nightmare: the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. I don't know what he wants to talk about specifically, but I bet that WWE Title match with Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam is one of the things on the agenda. As for the rest, well... we'll find out together," Nick Aldis said in the video below.
World Wrestling Entertainment has also announced the following for tonight's SmackDown: Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes, Tiffany Stratton vs. Mia Yim, and the SummerSlam contract signing for LA Knight vs. United States Champion Logan Paul.
