Cody Rhodes pushes for major name to "finish your story"

Cody Rhodes captured the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL to finally finish his story. The second-generation star used the story as motivation to survive the journey to The Grandest Stage of Them All and dethrone Roman Reigns. Cody is now using some humor to encourage another famous name to finish his story.

NFL quarterback Joe Burrow went viral this week after showing up at the Cincinnati Bengals training camp with a drastic change to his hairstyle. The 27-year-old was previously known for his parted locks, but now he has a dyed beach blonde buzz-cut for the 2024 NFL season. The new look was the inspiration for hundreds of memes, with many comparing the 27-year-old to Cody or rapper Eminem.

The American Nightmare took to X today to share one of those memes, which showed Burrow with Cody's infamous neck tattoo and the WWE Championship. Rhodes encouraged Burrow to finish his story this season and credited Tom's Customs for the edit.

"Time to finish your story this season @JoeyB [trophy emoji] @Toms_Customs," Cody Rhodes wrote with the graphic below.

Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 3. This will be his third televised singles bout against Solo Sikoa. Cody defeated Solo on RAW in March 2023 and then won by DQ on WWE SmackDown this past June.

Cody Rhodes set for WWE SummerSlam event

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that there will be a SummerSlam Kickoff event on Friday, August 2 at 5 pm ET. This is the day before the SummerSlam Premium Live Event at Browns Stadium.

The Kickoff event is free to all fans and will be held outside the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. SmackDown will be held in the same venue later that night. Cody Rhodes took to X and reposted an official WWE post promoting the event, indicating that he'll be one of the participating superstars at the rally event.

"SEE YA THERE. [waving hand emoji]."

The SummerSlam Kickoff event will air on Peacock and all WWE social media channels. Triple H, Michael Cole, and others are likely to appear as they have for recent Kickoff events held the day before the PLE shows.
