Cody Rhodes reacts to major WWE announcement
Cody Rhodes reacted to a major WWE announcement today on social media. The American Nightmare is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.
Earlier today, Triple H shared an update about WrestleMania 41 and noted that tickets are on sale this Friday for The Show of Shows in Las Vegas next April. Rhodes followed up Hunter's announcement with an interesting message of his own.
The American Nightmare shared a photo of himself standing in the endzone of Allegiant Stadium, the site of next year's WrestleMania, with the title on the field. You can check out Rhodes' interesting update in the Instagram post below.
"2025. #WrestleMania," he wrote.
Cody Rhodes will face Gunther for the newly introduced Crown Jewel Championship at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia on November 2. The two stars are scheduled to have a face-to-face this Friday night on WWE SmackDown ahead of their showdown at Crown Jewel next month.
Vince Russo suggests Cody Rhodes will turn heel when he faces major WWE star
Wrestling legend Vince Russo believes Cody Rhodes will turn heel if he defends his title against Roman Reigns down the line.
Rhodes defeated Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. He teamed up with the Original Tribal Chief to defeat The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event of Bad Blood. The Rock appeared following the match and stared at both OTC and The American Nightmare in the ring.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's BroDown show, Russo suggested that fans might choose to side with Reigns instead of Rhodes if the two stars had another rivalry. He added that the company would likely decide to turn Cody heel if that were the case.
"When he finally gets in the ring with Roman, they're gonna be done with Cody. And now it's time for Roman again, and that's when they're just gonna turn Cody heel," he said.
Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes in the parking lot at Bad Blood and also recently attacked Randy Orton on SmackDown. It will be interesting to see if Owens attempts to attack Rhodes again ahead of his Crown Jewel Championship match next month.
