Cody Rhodes reacts to a WWE fan 'finishing her story'
Reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is one of the most beloved babyfaces on the roster. The American Nightmare recently shared his reaction to a fan's heartwarming social media update.
The 39-year-old finished his story earlier this year when he defeated Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Bloodline Rules Match at The Showcase of The Immortals. Cody has been the champion since, with his latest successful defense coming against The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam.
The SmackDown Superstar took to his X (Twitter) account earlier today to comment on a fan's heartwarming post, calling it ''beautiful.'' The fan posted a picture of herself with Rhodes' action figure, noting she had finished her story by becoming cancer-free.
''[Heart emoji], beautiful!'' he wrote.
Former WWE Superstar wants to be a part of the Cody Rhodes-Roman Reigns storyline
Former WWE Superstar Afa Anoa'i Jr. (FKA Manu) is a real-life member of The Bloodline. The 39-year-old, however, is also Cody Rhodes' former teammate. The two were part of Legacy during the late 2000s, a heel faction that also featured Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase Jr., and Sim Snuka. He was released by the company in February 2009.
During Sportskeeda Wrestling's Exclusive SummerSlam Preview Show, Afa was asked if there were any matches he would have wished to be part of if he were currently a WWE Superstar. In response, the erstwhile Manu stated he would love to be a part of the rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, considering the history he shares with The American Nightmare.
"If I was on the current roster, yeah, I think I would insert myself into the middle of Roman [Reigns] and Cody [Rhodes]. Yeah, just because of my history with Cody being on the legacy and the fact that, yeah, I'm in the Bloodline. I've been wrestling longer than all of them [laughs]. And I've been sitting on the bench. So, there could be a little bad blood there. So, you know, I have always written myself in as the mystery wildcard," he said. [From 43:03 to 43:43]
Roman Reigns returned to WWE television at The Biggest Party of The Summer last weekend. The Original Tribal Chief laid waste to his former Enforcer, enabling Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Title in the Bloodline Rules Match.
It will be interesting to see if Roman and Cody cross paths on tonight's SmackDown.
