Cody Rhodes reacts to WWE's game-changing announcement
WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes shared his reaction to the company launching a groundbreaking new program. The American Nightmare is proud to be a part of this historic announcement.
Today, the company launched a new developmental program, WWE ID, to support independent wrestlers and wrestling schools. Notable schools like Booker T's Reality of Wrestling, Cody Rhodes' Nightmare Factory, Seth Rollins' Black and Brave Academy, and Rikishi's KnokX Pro Academy are among the first to be officially designated, offering training and mentorship to up-and-coming talent.
On X (FKA Twitter), The American Nightmare encouraged the brand-new program's growth and success, referencing a popular mantra from his wrestling academy: "Do the Work."
"Excited to see this program blossom and change the landscape of professional wrestling. As Coach QT and I say at The Nightmare Factory… 'Do the Work'"

Wrestling veteran questions Cody Rhodes' babyface run in WWE
Since his return to WWE, The American Nightmare has been portrayed as a babyface. However, during his initial tenure with the company and his time on the independent circuit, Rhodes often adopted a heel persona.
Speaking in a recent episode of The Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Cornette criticized Cody Rhodes' current babyface characterization, arguing that while the star attempts to emulate his late father, Dusty Rhodes' mannerisms, he lacks the toughness and physicality that define Dusty's persona.
The veteran believed that The American Nightmare's portrayal is overly sensitive and fails to capture the essence of a traditional babyface.
"This is it. He's not being too much of a babyface; he's crossing the line into a little prissy-ness. He's doing the Dusty cadence, but he's not doing the Dusty ‘Having a build like one of the boys’ type of thing, you know?' Dusty's character's life goal was to beat up everybody that graduated from Harvard. But, you know, Cody needs his daughter to know that he's the champion," said Jim Cornette.
