Cody Rhodes recalls drunk WWE crew member once telling him he had "the mind" but nothing else

Cody Rhodes has reflected on being told by a drunk production crew member that he had the mind but nothing else during his initial run in WWE. He has admitted that they were not wrong.

The American Nightmare was a mid-carder during the majority of his first run in WWE. However, he became a main event star after returning to the company in 2022. He's currently a world champion and has headlined WrestleMania three times already, two years in a row. He has also won two back-to-back Royal Rumbles.

During a recent conversation with Randy Orton on the What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Cody Rhodes stated many years ago, that the RAW brand was filled with a lot of names like Beth Phoenix, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, and himself, but they weren't doing anything significant. He then recalled a drunk crew member taking a jab at him.

"So coming up at the time, Santino Marella, myself, Beth Phoenix, Zack Ryder, RAW was flush. Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Miz, I could keep going. RAW was flush with people who, they got a thing, but they don't, they're not there. Do you remember Kirwan from our production? One night Kirwan got super red wine drunk at the bar and it was a random night that I happened to be there. And I remember him telling me, he goes, 'Man, Cody you have the mind. You just don't have anything else.' And I thought, Oh my God. Jeez, but he wasn't entirely wrong," said Rhodes. [17:20 - 18:02]

Will Kevin Owens end Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship reign at Bash in Berlin

Kevin Owens has been feuding with The Bloodline for several months now. Whenever Cody Rhodes got into a situation with the villainous group, KO and Randy Orton were there to help out. They even came to his aid at SummerSlam during his match against Solo Sikoa.

The American Nightmare rewarded Owens with a title shot at Bash in Berlin. Although Kevin Owens turned it down, he eventually agreed to the match. KO has held a world title in WWE before, so it's possible that he could leave Germany as the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Only time will tell whether that will actually happen.
