Cody Rhodes recounts party at former WWE Champion's house, calls him "absurdly rich"
Cody Rhodes caught up with old friends from his early days in WWE recently. He recounted a story about one of them and how the latter grew fond of cigars thanks to The American Nightmare. The man in question is Matt Cardona.
While sharing the anecdote, Rhodes couldn't help but call The Miz an "absurdly rich" WWE Superstar.
Speaking on The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Cody Rhodes said that he finds it funny that Cardona loves to smoke cigars now because that was not the case initially. He then went back to a New Year's party at The Miz's house:
"It's funny to me that you're [Matt Cardona] into cigars now because I remember at The Miz's New Year party, I said, 'I got some cigars. You want to go out back and smoke them?' and we were sitting there at that nice table, fireplace, and Miz is so absurdly rich, just, everything is so nice. We lit up. We were sitting there talking. Literally two minutes in, he [Cardona] goes, 'What do we do now?' Do...do anything. We're sitting here," said Rhodes. [29:04 onwards]
Matt Cardona clarified that he enjoys smoking cigars when he wants to collect his thoughts but not at a party because he would rather socialize.
Matt Cardona's wife, Chelsea Green, wants to see him return to WWE
Chelsea Green recently sat down for an interview with Gorilla Position, during which she was asked about her husband, Matt Cardona.
When the question was raised whether Green would become Cardona's valet in WWE, she confessed that she would rather see Steph De Lander join the company with him:
"My husband is very high-strung, very, and we go about life differently. I'm an easygoing, easy-breezy girl. He is not an easy breezy girl. He is not at all. He is actually the opposite of an easy-breezy girl. So I would like him back, and then I would like him to be with Steph De Lander," Chelsea Green said.
In 2020, Matt Cardona was released by WWE after a 14-year run. He has never looked back since then, dropping the "Zack Ryder" character for good. Nevertheless, while conversing with Sportskeeda Wrestling a few days ago, he expressed gratitude for everything World Wrestling Entertainment did for him.
