Cody Rhodes reveals WWE saved 43-year-old star's bus by pulling it away from his burning bus
Cody Rhodes has revealed that WWE personnel saved a top star's bus while his bus was caught on fire ahead of WrestleMania XL. The star in question is former WWE Champion The Miz.
Cody's bus was caught on fire mere days before The Show of Shows. No one was harmed, and The American Nightmare managed to save a picture of his family and his WrestleMania shoes.
On the latest edition of the SI Media Podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed more details about the unfortunate incident. He stated that WWE personnel rushed to move The Miz's bus away from his bus to make sure it didn't catch fire as well.
"I think the scariest part for me was they started backing up the Miz's bus as if, 'Hey, this bus is going to blow up, we've got to get this one out of here.' And I thought, 'Oh, how is this happening a few days before WrestleMania?' And then the next thing you know, the fire department is there in Philly. Pulled right in, blasted that bus, and saved it too. That bus will eventually roll again but it had a big hole in it." [47:25-47:53]
Cody Rhodes delivered a performance for the ages at The Show of Shows
The American Nightmare pulled double duty at WrestleMania XL. He and Seth Rollins faced The Rock and Roman Reigns on Night One of WrestleMania XL. However, they failed to defeat The Bloodline duo.
Cody Rhodes then went on to defeat Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on Night Two of 'Mania, thus putting an end to Reigns' four-year run as champion and finishing his story.
As for The Miz, he competed in a Six-Pack Tag Team Ladder match at WrestleMania XL. The A-Lister and R-Truth won the RAW Tag Team Title when the dust had settled.
