Cody Rhodes reveals WWE is yet to fulfill his request; wants to face veteran in a one-on-one match
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has become the biggest face of the promotion by overcoming the biggest threat in the company. However, the management has yet to fulfill The American Nightmare's request to face R-Truth.
In 2022, Cody Rhodes changed the landscape of professional wrestling when he made a grand return to The Showcase of The Immortals in Texas and defeated Seth Rollins. In the following two years, The American Nightmare has achieved more than anyone could imagine in the Stamford-based promotion.
However, Rhodes wants to check off one important thing from his list. Speaking on the recent edition of 'What Do You Want To Talk About?' The American Nightmare stated he made a specific request to WWE before returning, which was a one-on-one match against R-Truth.
"You knew I had come back and one of the things people always ask about my return and 'Hey did you have any requests, were there any mandatory things?' There was one. I wanted to make sure that you and I had one Singles Match. Didn't matter where, didn't matter what, still hasn't happened, and it can happen now," Rhodes said. [From 17:20 to 17:41]

What's the issue between Cody Rhodes and R-Truth in WWE?
Cody Rhodes' first run with WWE was filled with questionable bookings. The star had multiple gimmicks in the Stamford-based promotion before reaching his breaking point as Stardust.
However, R-Truth benefited a lot from Stardust as he defeated him on several house shows and weekly episodes. In an interview on Rosenberg Wrestling, Cody Rhodes (in kayfabe) detailed his issues with R-Truth.
"I might dislike R-Truth more than anybody in this business.... He's an unbelievably great human, a great father, and all those things.... Just know that 42 different occasions, I was looking up at the lights why R-Truth was dancing around and celebrating," Cody said.

The two have no real-life issues. However, Rhodes wants to get one up over the star for the countless times he, as Stardust, has taken the pin from Truth.
