Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have a brief moment after the latter returns at WWE SummerSlam

Roman Reigns returned to spoil Solo Sikoa's attempt at winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event. The star then had a brief moment with Cody Rhodes.

At WrestleMania XL, Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Rhodes. Since losing the title, The Head of the Table has been absent from WWE. Amidst his absence, Sikoa declared himself the new Tribal Chief and formed his version of The Bloodline, recruiting Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.

During the main event of SummerSlam, Reigns made his highly anticipated return. He hit Sikoa with a Superman Punch and a Spear, leading to Rhodes retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship. Post-match, Reigns and Rhodes had a brief staredown, as they teased a trilogy.

The rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes dates way back to 2023. At WrestleMania 39, The American Nightmare was unsuccessful in winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship after interference from Sikoa, who helped Reigns retain the title. Fast forward to WrestleMania XL, Rhodes dethroned Reigns in a Bloodline Rules Match.
