Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns' strained relationship may be a major issue at Bad Blood claims WWE veteran (Exclusive)
Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. This week on SmackDown, a series of events unfolded that brought them together on the same side.
Roman Reigns showed up to help Cody Rhodes when the Bloodline attacked him after the Steel Cage Match. Later, the spotlight was again on the two babyfaces during the show's final segment. After a heated promo exchange, the two men decided to put aside their differences and face The Bloodline together. Roman and Cody signed a contract to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood 2024.
During this week's Smack Talk podcast, Mantell mentioned that the final segment capped off a brilliant show. He pointed out that Cody and Roman still had a lot of animosity between them, which would play out in the coming weeks. However, they just joined forces to battle a common enemy.
"I liked Cody's line, 'You were before WrestleMania.' That's what he was saying, 'You lost all claims right then, and it came to me. I didn't like you saying that.' And he was pissed off. I do like he and Roman are not buddy-buddy. They literally still hate each other, and that's the feeling they're giving off. They'll play upon that later. But they played that part right. So all in all, I think the closing segment was good." [From 27:27 - 28:07]
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have a lot of history together, and it will be interesting to see if they will be able to keep their issues aside at Bad Blood and work together against Solo and Fatu.
