Cody Rhodes's biggest WWE rival ready to form a team with him and gives it a new name; champion responds

Cody Rhodes may be teaming up with one of his biggest WWE rivals of all time soon. The two stars even spoke about forming a new team soon.

Cody Rhodes has been in WWE for a long time and "finished his story" when he faced Roman Reigns at WrestleMania and defeated him to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, Rhodes has said that his story will never be finished as long as he does not defeat one other star - R-Truth.

During Rhodes' previous run in WWE, when he was still Stardust, he lost to Truth several times in a row, racking up a huge number of losses. This is a grudge that he's refused to let go of, but much to his frustration, seeing how they are both fan favorites in the company right now, they can't face each other in a match.

In fact, when appearing on Rhodes' podcast, R-Truth instead spoke about them forming a new team together and even gave it a name - The American Truth.

"We need to tag together. We need to be a team. The American Truth." (15:52 - 15:55)

Cody Rhodes went on to respond to that plan, and oddly enough, despite his 'dislike' of Truth, he was not totally against the idea. He even seemed to consider it.

"We can be the American Truth, huh?" (15:55 - 15:56)

Rhodes may not have to face Roman Reigns immediately because he's distracted with putting his house in order, especially with Solo Sikoa having launched a coup in The Bloodline during his absence.

While Reigns may be focused on them, he has already said that it's only a matter of time before he's champion again.

Meanwhile, Rhodes has a big challenge in front of him as he will face Kevin Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin in a match for the top title. This match was confirmed on last week's SmackDown where Owens was initially reluctant to accept the title shot but when Nick Aldis dropped a hint that Reigns could get the shot instead, Kevin Owens accepted and the match was set for the Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event.
