Cody Rhodes sends a message ahead of his main-event match on WWE SmackDown; trolls his opponent

Cody Rhodes kicked off the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. He was unexpectedly confronted by Chad Gable from Monday Night RAW. Gable called Rhodes a bad friend and the definition of superficial. The two engaged in a heated argument, which ultimately led Rhodes to challenge the leader of American Made to a singles match later in the show.

Ahead of his main event match, The American Nightmare took to X/Twitter to troll Gable, sharing a picture of Stardust vs. Shorty G. This was a reference to the promo earlier in the show where Rhodes praised Gable for making the most of his previous Shorty G gimmick, much like Cody Rhodes had to overcome his Stardust persona to become the star he is today.

"Coming up next on #SmackDown," Cody Rhodes wrote.

Check out his tweet below:

In the main event, both stars delivered a fantastic match. Despite Chad Gable's impressive performance, it was the Undisputed WWE Champion who was victorious tonight. After the bout, Rhodes was attacked by Kevin Owens. The two brawled outside the ring, bringing the show to a chaotic close.

Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event next week.
