Cody Rhodes shares cryptic three-word message ahead of WWE SummerSlam

Cody Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam in Cleveland against yet another Anoa'i family member, "Tribal Chief," and it might just be the beginning of a new chapter.

At WrestleMania XL, The American Nightmare dethroned Roman Reigns, who had a monumental 1,316-day reign holding the top prize of the company. He was arguably the biggest name in the industry, who broke several records and revived the business, unlike any other name in recent memory.

Taking to Instagram, the former AEW EVP appears to be hinting at doing the same. Rhodes obviously has big shoes to fill, but the 39-year-old is up for the challenge. His next challenger is Solo Sikoa, who seems to have already got him cornered by taking out his allies Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

"Break every record," Cody wrote.

The other day, Rhodes invited fans to join him before stepping in the ring against Sikoa in Cleveland as he is looking to help raise funds for The V Foundation which focuses on fundraising for cancer research and scientists. He declared that his "personal goal" is to raise 100,000 dollars.

Cody Rhodes wants to face John Cena, but is unsure if WWE will book that match

When it comes to wrestling matches, it is about the sensational, the emotions, the face and heel dynamic. Without the latter, the audience would not know who to root for. WWE usually clearly presents who is the protagonist and antagonist of a story, albeit lines are blurred and gray areas are exposed as well.

In the case of Cody Rhodes and John Cena, both of them are incredibly over-babyfaces in the eyes of fans. When The American Nightmare expressed a desire to face The Cenation Leader, he was doubtful about the practicality of it:

"I asked John if he does one more... to consider that match. If not though, I'm blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past," wrote Rhodes.

Much like Cena, who never turned heel since his early days in WWE, Rhodes has no intention to do the same. He admitted that it is possible, but he does not see it happening.
