Cody Rhodes shares his favorite moment from WrestleMania; it involved 60-year-old veteran

Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40 when he defeated Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Rhodes recently revealed his favorite moment from his championship clash in Philadelphia. The said moment involved 60-year-old veteran referee Charles Robinson.

The American Nightmare's story started when he returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and defeated Seth Rollins. While an injury several months later stopped his momentum, Rhodes returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble and won it. However, he failed to conquer The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.

Rhodes embarked on a one-year journey full of ups and downs but he finally finished the story by pinning Reigns back in April. In a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, the Undisputed WWE Champion was asked what was about his favorite moment from WrestleMania 40. Replying to the question, Cody said:

"Charles Robinson handing me the title, even now I'm just like tensing up think about it. Charles Robinson handing me the title was the happiest memory I could possibly have. We talked about at the beginning of this interview in terms of willing something new into existence, it doesn't always happen, it's not always a happy ending and I wasn't going to get the opportunity to wrestle him again really if we didn't get it done. And Charles handing me the title ... He might be the type that we don't have to say anything to each other, but that was incredibly special." [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Cody Rhodes has held the title since, defending it against superstars such as AJ Styles, Logan Paul, Solo Sikoa, and Kevin Owens. Rhodes will likely defend it against Sikoa once again at WWE Bad Blood on October 5th in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Cody Rhodes reveals there was a different plan for him at WrestleMania 40

It was no secret that The Rock wanted to main event WrestleMania 40 and face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, the fans made it clear that they wanted to see Cody Rhodes finish his story. It prompted The Rock to turn heel, giving fans more than what they asked for with The Final Boss character.

In the same interview with Inside the Ropes, Rhodes revealed that there was a different plan for him at WrestleMania 40. He didn't share what it was but he was sure that fans would have been more angry about it.

"If people knew the real plan for me, they’d be even more angry. I can't share the real plan for you, The Rock plan, whatever it may be. That was going to be on my mind in terms of how do we make that work? How do we accomplish that? I had a really good team of people around me," Rhodes said. [H/T: ITR Wrestling]

The Rock teased the possibility of facing Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the future. They had a moment on WWE RAW after WrestleMania 40 although The Final Boss' busy schedule for next year is still unclear.
