Cody Rhodes shares moving moment with WWE fan
Cody Rhodes shared a moving moment with a wrestling fan today at a WWE Live Event in Newcastle. The American Nightmare will be in action in a marquee match next month at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes called a fan named Paige to the ring during a live event today in the United Kingdom. The fan had just finished her final treatment of chemotherapy for cancer, and Rhodes gave her the robe he wore at SummerSlam. Rhodes and Paige then shared a hug in the ring as the crowd cheered.
"I wore this at SummerSlam. I wore it proudly. She came here tonight in her own coat, and Paige, if you could come in the ring right now, I'd like to give you this coat," he said. [From 00:15 - 00:26]
Triple H introduced the Crown Jewel Championships earlier this month at WWE Bad Blood. Gunther and Cody Rhodes will be squaring off for the title at Crown Jewel on November 2.
Vince Russo comments on Gunther vs. Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel
Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on the promotion booking Gunther versus Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel.
Gunther defeated Damian Priest to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Rhodes has been the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion since defeating Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL.
Speaking on a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Russo questioned the company's decision to book the two champions against each other at Crown Jewel next month. The legend wondered why the company would want to hand one of their major champions a loss at the Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia.
"I guess what they're saying is we're pitting our two greatest wrestlers against each other to give you a Saudi Championship. But, I will say it again as I say it all the time, what does that do for the loser? Not only what does it do for the loser, why would you want to hurt a champion?" Vince Russo said. [9:05 - 9:30]

Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes in the parking lot following Bad Blood earlier this month in Atlanta, Georgia. It will be interesting to see what the company has planned for the storyline moving forward on SmackDown.
