Cody Rhodes shockingly turning heel and attacking 44-year-old former WWE Champion could happen, says veteran (Exclusive)
Cody Rhodes is currently one of the biggest babyfaces in WWE. However, real-life Bloodline member and wrestling veteran Lloyd Anoa'i wouldn't put it past the company to turn The American Nightmare heel by attacking a 44-year-old former World Champion.
While Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are very close friends for now, many have been speculating about The Legend Killer turning on The American Nightmare over the last few months. Their third ally, Kevin Owens, embraced his villainous side by attacking the Undisputed WWE Champion after Bad Blood, and the same is expected for the 14-time World Champion.
However, Lloyd Anoa'i believes that Triple H and Co. have been unpredictable about their booking, and thus, Rhodes turning heel by attacking Randy Orton may happen. Here's what the veteran said during Sportskeeda Wrestling's review of Bad Blood:
"There are so many things that can happen right now. As you were saying earlier, WWE is keeping the field open for everybody. I like that because anything can happen right now."
He continued:
"They are just keeping the door open not just for one person but for every star there. Look at the thing with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, so everything is up in the air. I think they are trying to keep people puzzled about what are they gonna do with this person. Is he gonna be a true heel or go back to being a babyface? So you’re keeping the door open for everybody, keeping everybody thinking which I think is a very good thing because they are not showing people things set in store yet." [From 52:18 - 53:00]
Cody Rhodes' opponent for WWE Crown Jewel confirmed on RAW
Cody Rhodes will be in action at the company's upcoming premium live event in Saudi Arabia, where he will face Gunther for the newly introduced Crown Jewel Championship. The title was revealed by Triple H at Bad Blood.
Gunther was in action on this week's RAW, where he successfully defended his title against Sami Zayn, thus booking his ticket for Saudi Arabia. The Ring General also came face-to-face with Cody Rhodes towards the end of RAW.
Earlier on the show, Sami Zayn asked The American Nightmare about Kevin Owens' attack at Bad Blood. However, Rhodes did not comment stating he will get a clearer picture of the incident on SmackDown.
