Condolences to WWE legend Ric Flair
WWE legend Ric Flair and his family suffered a tragedy today. The Nature Boy has not wrestled since teaming up with Andrade to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in his final match on July 31, 2022.
According to a new report by TMZ, Ric Flair's stepson, Sebastian Kidder, tragically passed away. The report stated that Kidder took his own life at the age of 24 yesterday at the family home in Georgia. The youngster was an aspiring musician and recently appeared on Fox's Good Day Atlanta. Flair's former partner Wendy Barlow, Sebastian's mother, spoke with the publication and noted that she was devastated.
"I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic with your young men. And mental health," she said.
Flair announced that he and Wendy Barlow had separated earlier this year. The 75-year-old spent some time in All Elite Wrestling recently but is no longer under contract with the promotion. The legend was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
WWE legend Ric Flair reveals who he wants to break his record
Wrestling icon Ric Flair is recognized as a 16-time World Champion, and recently shared who he would like to break his record.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Flair revealed that he would like to see his daughter Charlotte Flair break the record, but would have no issue with John Cena doing it as well.
"The honest to god truth, I think so much personally of John Cena. He’s one of those really great guys, in my opinion, and I’ve known a few. In a perfect world, it would be my daughter, which I think would be the biggest thing that could ever happen. I told her one time, 'You’d be as famous as Serena Williams if you broke that record. It’s been there for so long.' She didn’t like the comparison, but she’s as good an athlete as there is alive today. But if they do it with John, I’d have no problem. I’d be the first one to hit the ring and shake his hand," he said. [H/T to WrestleZone]
Charlotte Flair has not wrestled since December 2023 and is currently recovering from a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Meanwhile, John Cena is expected to return to the company in January 2025 for his Farewell Tour.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling send our condolences to Ric Flair and his family at this incredibly difficult time.
