Congratulations to former WWE champion Mickie James!

Mickie James is perhaps best known as a former Women's and Divas Champion in WWE, but outside of the ring, she is also a successful musician.

James left WWE back in 2010 and released her first album later that year, and has spent the last 14 years dedicating her time to both of her passions as well as raising her son Donovan, whom she shares with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.

It was revealed earlier this week that James had been nominated for a Native American Music Award in the category "Best Country Music Recording” for her song entitled Sandbar Sunsets.

James opened up about being nominated for the award on her website:

"I am super honored to be nominated! To be nominated again is incredible, always grateful for that and to represent my (Powhatan) heritage & my tribe but also shout out to Sean Gasaway & Jake Hill who wrote the song with me."

This isn't the first time James has been nominated, having already won in 2017 and 2018 in Song of the Year and Best Single Recording for her records "Shooting Blanks" and "Left Right Left."

James was also inducted into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2017.

Will Mickie James return to WWE?

While her husband is a member of the WWE roster, there is always a question about whether James will return to the company once again.

James was part of the annual Royal Rumble while Knockouts Champion in 2022 and could once again be part of the Royal Rumble next year if she is approached. The company is always open to bringing back legends to work with up-and-coming stars, and it's hard to see James not being seen as one of them.

There has been speculation that she could be set to return, but at present, that only remains a rumor.
