"Congratulations" - Rikishi finally reacts to major Bloodline betrayal on WWE SmackDown

WWE Hall of Famer and real-life member of The Bloodline Rikishi recently reacted to a major betrayal on SmackDown. He congratulated The Motor City Machine Guns for winning the WWE Tag Team Championships from The Tongans following an interference by Jey Uso.

In the main event of last Friday's episode of SmackDown, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin faced off against Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso neutralized Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, with Jey Uso getting his revenge by costing The Tongans their tag titles.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Off The Top podcast, Rikishi reacted to MCMG winning the WWE Tag Team Championships. He knew them from his brief time in TNA Wrestling and was happy for them after years of hard work. He also thought that some teams might not be happy with MCMG winning the titles in just their second night.

"I remember those kids when they were young there (in TNA). It was good to finally see these kids, they're great workers, and from my understanding, they're even better people. I thought that them getting an opportunity, a quick, fast opportunity, to be able to go up (for) the titles and to be able to be rewarded the titles, that's a huge thing for those two boys. I can imagine how the other tag teams feel, that's been there putting in work and been waiting for an opportunity. As far as this is business talk, just for instance, any tag team might have been promised that you'll get shot at it soon blah, blah, blah. But at the at the end of the day or at the end of maybe booking meeting or whatever, things change. So congratulations to the new tag team champions," Rikishi said. [7:47 - 8:52]

Rikishi was with TNA Wrestling for a brief time in 2007 when Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were just forming the Motor City Machine Guns.

Rikishi calls latest chapter in Bloodline storyline a 'movie'

In an episode of his Off The Top podcast before last Friday's episode of SmackDown, Rikishi discussed the latest chapter of The Bloodline storyline. He called it a "movie" after Bron Breakker beat Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship with help from Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

"It's been a crazy ride and buildup, the storyline of The Bloodline going head-to-head and intertwining with other talent. Bron Breakker comes through with Jey, and here comes Jimmy, you see the promos on the outside, it’s a movie, man. It’s just what we do, man," Rikishi said. [H/T Fightful]

The Bloodline will face Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso in a six-man tag team match this Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
