Congratulations to WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes has firmly established himself as the top champion in WWE following his victory over Gunther at Crown Jewel 2024. The American Nightmare has now etched his name in the history books by becoming the inaugural men's Crown Jewel Champion.
Rhodes and Gunther faced off in a champion vs. champion match at WWE's recently concluded premium live event. Both men took each other to their limits in an enthralling match. The American Nightmare was able to pick up the win in the end after reversing a Sleeper Hold from The Ring General.
Following the win, Rhodes was crowned the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion by Triple H and Saudi Arabia higher-ups. While The American Nightmare did not get to keep the title, he was presented with a diamond ring afterward, marking his huge victory.
Rhodes has made history with the win, and thus congratulations are in order for the former AEW EVP as he has become the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion.
What's next for Cody Rhodes in WWE?
While Cody Rhodes may have managed to overcome Gunther at Crown Jewel, he still has a lot of business to attend to on SmackDown. The American Nightmare has been embroiled in a feud with Kevin Owens ever since the latter betrayed him at Bad Blood 2024.
KO was also slated to be in action at the event in Saudi Arabia. However, his match against Randy Orton never began, as the two men brawled before the bell could even ring. They even assaulted WWE officials, which could land them in major trouble. The segment ended with KO putting Orton through a table.
The Legend Killer was unable to walk back on his own, which could mean that he is likely to be sidelined for some time. Meanwhile, Owens could now shift his attention to Cody Rhodes, as the two still have unfinished business between them. Fans will get a clearer picture of the situation on the upcoming edition of SmackDown.
